“Flowers of Kalotaszeg” beaded twirly skirt with hand cross-stitch embroidery

Handcrafted; a special women’s skirt, decorated and beaded by hand.

A full-circle, twirling skirt cut from just two large pieces (plus the waistband) in a soft-flowing, beige linen-viscose fabric, decorated at the bottom with pre-steamed Transylvanian lace.

A wide, beige cotton Aida band sewn onto the front of the waistband has been embroidered with burgundy pearl cotton thread. It features our cross-stitch bouquet-of-tulips pattern originating from Kalotaszeg; a design already highly popular centuries ago.

Around the bottom of the skirt, our Tree of Life pattern, also from Kalotaszeg, repeats all the way around. The latter was applied to the fabric using hand screen printing and baked in an oven at high temperatures for durability, then decorated with tiny white beads sewn onto the fabric one by one.

Available upon request in other base colours (black, red, white) and with different embroidery colours. Made to order in sizes 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, and 46. Due to the extensive handwork involved, production time is approximately 3 weeks.
